Follow this link for info about the review system. 1 = Terrible, 5 = Awesome! A step up from the ol' reliable PGA Golf, adds several nifty features.
Chip Shot is a lot like the real thing. You love it, and you hate it. Quite an enjoyable game–that makes you want to break you putter over your knee! There are several improvements over the original PGA Golf cartridge. Most notable among them are:
The graphics are nice, and the holes challenging. There are lots of small touches that make this a great game. As you'd expect, the sound is sparse, so the sound rating isn't because it's bad, it's just that there's so little.
Only one version of the box has been found for Chip Shot Super Pro Golf.
The Digital Press site reports that this game has two ROM variants (crediting Ian Holbrough). Ostensibly, the ROM variant is that in the special credits screen (see Easter Eggs section), some versions give a 'Caddie' credit, while others give a 'Caddy' credit. Personally, I've so far only seen 'Caddie' in the carts that have passed through my hands, while the ROM images floating around out there seem to be of the 'Caddy' variety. Anyone out there able to confirm with an actual physical cartridge that the 'Caddy' version exists? A total of two Chip Shot Super Pro Golf manual variants have been documented.
A total of two Chip Shot Super Pro Golf overlay variants have been documented. Only one version of the label has been found for Chip Shot Super Pro Golf.
