There can be no doubt that the Sports Network formed the early backbone of the Intellivision. Major League Baseball was the early "killer app" for the Intellivision - the super-weapon in its
arsenal of games to prove its superiority to the Atari VCS. The only perceived downfall of these games was that the original classic sports games required two players. Mattel also invested heavily in
getting logo licenses from the major professional leagues for almost all of their sports games. I distinctly remember that Auto Racing was, at one point, listed as USAC Auto Racing - guess that one
fell through.
